Laura Oppenheim, MD
As the daughter of a family physician, I always hoped to emulate my father in his profession. As a practicing physician in Center City Philadelphia, I continue to model my father's approach: attentive, personalized, and patient. While my husband, a retinal surgeon at Penn, enjoys a very specialized and focused approach to medicine, I have always been drawn to treating patients holistically and completely. As an MDVIP-affiliated physician, I can educate and guide you as you pursue achieving and maintaining your health goals. I aim to support you through my education, experience, and energetic commitment to care. My practice offers a comprehensive yearly exam, as well as conveniences like same- and next-day appointments with minimal waiting.
In addition to my interests in preventive medicine, cardiovascular health, diabetes, hypertension, and women's health, I am Fellowship-trained in geriatrics. I am keenly aware of the complex medical issues people face with aging. I am dedicated to providing personalized, evidence-based care to support all my patients as they work to address their individual needs. I listen to my patients and serve as their advocate across an often complex medical landscape.
I live in Center City with my husband and young son.

What Patients Are Saying About Laura Oppenheim, MD
Dr. Laura Oppenheim has been my PCP for many years. When she became an MDVIP physician, I followed her. I made accommodations in my budget because I couldn't imagine her not continuing to treat me. The relationship we've formed through the years enables her to treat me as a person, not only a patient. I value her attention and care. She is a very special person.
Dr. Oppenheim has followed me for years. I have a number of medical issues and look upon her as the captain of my ship. She coordinates my care and always guides me in the right direction. I trust her implicitly! The one moment that I remember most occurred approximately 15 months ago when I was hospitalized. My hospital team was divided on its recommendations for surgery.
Dr. Oppenheim followed my care and was in contact with me throughout my hospital stay. She also assisted me in making decisions when my hospital team was divided on their recommendations. She spoke with my husband and me via telephone and really helped us decide on the best treatment plan. She is very smart, caring, responsive, and always refers me to excellent physicians when needed. I could not think of a better primary care physician. I certainly hit the jackpot when I chose Dr. Oppenheim as my physician. She is THE BEST.
